I cannot tell you how many of the decisions I am making now, in 2015, are directly impacting my plans to travel in 2023. I can’t tell you how deciding not to get an amazing reusable blue glass bottle at Target today (on clearance for 2.98$!) will impact those plans eight years from now. I can only tell you that by not getting that amazing blue bottle I will have one less thing to get rid of in eight years. I will have three more dollars in my travel fund (theoretically). I will have managed for eight years without that silly blue bottle, and probably won’t even remember that for a fleeting moment it was the most amazing thing in Target.
